NS Vishwanathan appointed as Deputy Governor of RBI

New Delhi/ 28 June 2016. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has cleared the name of NS Vishwanathan as Deputy Governor of Reserve Bank of India on Tuesday.

He would succeed HR Khan who is retiring on July 3.

Present assignment 
Vishwanathan is at present Executive Director of the RBI overseeing the banking regulation and non-banking department.

The RBI currently has four deputy governors.
