Oman / 13 Feb 2016. Hindus are urging Oman Airports Management Company (OAMC), to include a Hindu Prayer Room in the new Muscat International Airport (MIA) which will reportedly have around 24 prayer rooms for men and women.
President of Universal Society of Hinduism Rajan Zed, urged OAMC Board Chairman Dr. Juma bin Ali Al-Juma and CEO Aimen Ahmed Al Hosni to include a Hindu Prayer Room considering that Hinduism is oldest and third largest religion of the world with about one billion adherents.
Zed offered aid of a group of Hindu scholars in designing an appropriate prayer room, which would include statues of popular deities, copies of sacred scriptures, a traditional bell and recorded devotional music.
Currently under development in Oman, MIA will likely be completed by the end of the year. The new MIA will have a capacity to handle 12 million passengers annually, accommodate worldâs largest aircrafts, have 7 medical clinics and include a 90 room hotel.
