Long Hair Festival in China

Chinese Women of ethnic Yao minority during the local Long Hair Festival brush their long hair as part of a performance.

 

It is a celebration of the third day of the third lunar month which is regarded as a traditional festival for many ethnic minorities in Huangluo village of Guilin Guangxi Zhuang.

 

 

 

According to the local media more than 80 women in the village have hair longer than 1.4 meters, with the longest reaching 2.3 meters.

 

The village also  entered  the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's first long hair village and they believe that long hair brings longevity, wealth and good fortune.
