New Delhi/ 23 Dec.
The BJP has suspended its MP and former cricketer Kirti Azad for ‘anti-party activities’. Azad had been publicly targeting Finance Minister Arun Jaitley with allegations of corruption in Delhi's cricket body DDCA.

The Situation turned bitter after Azad went ahead with a press conference on Sunday dragging Jaitley in the alleged DDCA scam. He also made a small speech about the same in the Lok Sabha soon after the Finance Minister rubbished all the accusation. The BJP central leadership was highly displeased with Azad. However, amid angst of the party, Azad has got support of a fellow party member Shatrughan Sinha, who has been equally vocal against some stands of the party. The outspoken actor-turned-politician tweeted ‘Kirti Azad-hero of the day.’

However, PM Modi has supported Arun Jaitley. He had said that Jaitley would come out of the DDCA row with flying colours. Perhaps, the opposition’s attack was not sufficient that the BJP is facing internal rebellions also. Action against Kirti Azad seems to be just an attempt to put some water on burning fire.
