Kerala Police chief goes on leave protesting over his removal

Protesting over the state govt’s decision to shunt him out of the top office DGP T.P Senkumar has gone on leave. Intelligence Chief A. Hemachandran will officiate as DGP. 

 

The new government led by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday, had announced the reshuffle of top police officials in the state. Accordingly, State Police Chief TP Senkumar was transferred and moved to Police Housing and Construction Corporation as its MD. DGP Loknath Behra who was handling Fire and rescue services is now appointed as State DGP.

 

DGP Jacob Thomas has been moved as Vigilence Chief in place of DGP Shankar Reddy who has not been given any posting so far.

 

State Police Chief T.P Senkumar had openly expressed his disappointment for shunting him out of the top police and said it was against the norms.
