Justice Tirath Singh Thakur sworn in as Chief Justice of India

New Delhi/03 Dec. Justice Tirath Singh Thakur was sworn in as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India by President Pranab Mukherjee at a ceremony held on thursday at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
63-year old Justice TS Thakur took oath in the name of God at a ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan which was attended by PM Narendra Modi, his cabinet colleagues, MPs and former Chief Justices, among others.
Justice Thakur will have a tenure of little over one year. He will retire on January 4, 2017.
