Javeed Ahmad appointed as DGP, UP

Lucknow/ 1 Jan. The Uttar Pradesh government has announced the name of state head of UP police on January 1. A 1984-batch IPS officer, Javeed Ahmad has been appointed as the DGP, UP by CM Akhilesh Yadav.

Javeed Ahmad is an experienced IPS officer and presently, he is serving as DG, Railways in Uttar Pradesh. Ahmad has also worked in various capacities in the state as well as the central government. The officer will retire in 2020.
