IPS Alok Verma to be next police commissioner of Delhi

New Delhi/ 17 February 2016. IPS officer Alok Verma, (1979 Batch: UT cadre) will be next commissioner of police in Delhi. 

Alok Verma at present is director general of prisons in New Delhi. He will take charge on March 1. Current Commissioner BS Bassi, is hanging in his boots on February 29, 2016.

Meanwhile, Bassi is one of the contenders for the post of Information Commissioner in Central Information Commission (CIC).
