INS Tarmugli joins Indian navy

New Delhi / 23 May 2016. Fast Attack Craft INS Tarmugli has been commissioned by the Vice Admiral HCS Bisht, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command at a formal ceremony held in Visakhapatnam Naval Dockyard. The container would be deployed for surveillance and coastal patrolling along the eastern coastal side.

INS Tarmugli named after an island in the Andaman group is a âMake in Indiaâ initiative. It is completely built and designed indigenously, is a welcome effort to improve and incorporate desi technology in the field of warship design and construction.
Features
The vessel weighs 320-tonne and is 48 meters long, it is capable of operating in shallow waters at high speeds and is also equipped with enhanced fire power, advanced MTU engines, water jet propulsion and employs latest communication equipment.
