Indian-origin Sikh appointed Kuala Lumpur Police Commissioner

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia / 23 Feb 2016. Deputy Commissioner Amar Singh has been appointed as the new Police Commissioner for Malaysiaâs capital Kuala Lumpur, the highest police rank achieved by any Sikh in the Muslim-majority country.
Singh will be replacing Tajuddin Mohamed who will become the Deputy Director of the Malaysia commercial CID next month.
Currently in his 50s, Singh graduated with a B.Sc followed by LLB and a Diploma in Sharia Law.
