Indian-origin Sikh appointed Kuala Lumpur Police Commissioner

Deputy Commissioner Amar Singh has been appointed as the new Police Commissioner for Malaysia’s capital Kuala Lumpur, the highest police rank achieved by any Sikh in the Muslim-majority country. 

 

Singh will be replacing Tajuddin Mohamed who will become the Deputy Director of the Malaysia commercial CID next month.  

 

Currently in his 50s, Singh graduated with a B.Sc followed by LLB and a Diploma in Sharia Law.
