Google pays tribute to singing legend Mukesh on his birth anniversary

Google on Friday paid tributes to the legendary Bollywood singer Mukesh by dedicating a special 'doodle' on his 93rd birth anniversary on Friday.

 

The doodle shows a smiling face of the singer with a mic and the song Kabhi Kabhie Mere Dil Mein from Amitabh Bachchan starrer classic Kabhi Kabhie in the backdrop.

 

 

Mukesh Chand Mathur, popularly known as Mukesh was born on July 22, 1923, in Delhi.  He was known as the singing voice of the actor Raj Kapoor.

 

He got his first break as a playback singer for actor Motilal in 1945 with the film Pehli Nazar 

 

He passed away on 27 August 1976, leaving Indians with his melodic memories.

 

Mukesh is remembered for his songs ‘Chandan sa badan’ (Saraswatichandra), ‘Chal ri sajni, ab kya soche’ (Bambai Ka Babu), ‘Kabhi kabhi mere dil me khayal aata hai’ and ‘Main pal do pal ka shayar hoon’ (both Kabhi Kabhie), ‘Kya khoob lagti ho, badi sunder dikhti ho’ (Dharmatma), ‘Sab kuchh sikha humne, na sikhi hoshiyari’ (Anari), ‘Sawan ka mahina, pawan kare shor” (Milan), and ‘Hothon pe sachhai rehti hai’ (Jis Desh Mein Ganga Behti Hai).
