FRIENDS Reunion: A disappointment?

California /22 Feb 2016. The long-awaited and much discussed FRIENDS reunion seems to have disappointed a majority of the fans of the super-hit sitcom. The 10-season show about 6 friends living in New York City, touted as a cult classic still retains a massive fan base even 12 years after the decade long show ended.
Reunion
Initially, a two-hour special with the 6 stars of FRIENDS: Rachel (Jennifer Aniston), Monica (Courteney Cox), Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow), Joey (Matt LeBlanc), Chandler (Matthew Perry) and Ross (David Schwimmer) had been announced. Later, details were released that the âreunionâ is part of a tribute for 75-year-old Director James Burrows, who would be celebrating directing his 1,000th episode of television and that Matthew Perry would not be able to attend the event.
A disappointment?
Nearly 90 minutes into the two hour show, the remaining 5 members of the iconic FRIENDS team finally began their segment, congratulating Burrows who had directed several episodes of their show. Although a few âbehind-the-scenesâ tidbits were discussed, their efforts on being friends in real life during the show, playing poker between shoots and their enjoyment of filming the âflashbackâ episodes where Rachel had a different nose and Monica was fat, not much more discussion revolved around the show or their much loved characters. For fans who had been counting down the days for a reunion of the 6 best friends, the short âtributeâ was a disappointment.
The James Burrows tribute two hour special also included the casts of popular tv shows like Will & Grace, Taxi, The Big Bang Theory, Wings, Mike & Molly, and Two and a Half Men.
