DN Exclusive: Gujarat permeates with new spirit of change; MP CR Patil gives new edge to PM Modi's cleanliness campaign

To realize Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of “Clean India”, a unique and innovative experiment is being conducted in his state by Gujarat BJP State President and MP from Navsari Lok Sabha seat CR Patil. New Delhi: ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’ was launched as a National Movement across the country by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 2 October 2014, the birth anniversary of Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. The impact of this Mission of PM Modi is quite visible from remote villages to cities and metros.

To realize PM Modi's vision of “Clean India”, a unique and innovative initiative is being taken these days by Gujarat State President of Bharatiya Janata Party and MP from Navsari Lok Sabha seat CR Patil in his home state Gujarat with the sole objective of making Gujarat of Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel and PM Modi completely clean. 

In fact, inspired by the thoughts of PM Modi, CR Patil is giving a new edge of ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’ in Gujarat. In this Mission, alongwith government employees and officers, common people and students are also joining in large numbers.

80 Navsari villages completely clean
Navsari MP CR Patil has got 80 out of 360 villages in his parliamentary constituency completely cleaned through this campaign. The remaining 280 villages will be completely cleaned in the next 20-25 days. His initiative has started all over Gujarat successfully. Patil believes that in the next three months all the districts and villages of Gujarat will be made garbage free.

Two photos before and after the campaign
While talking to Dynamite News, the Navsari MP showed two photographs of a village--one before the cleanliness drive and the other one after the cleanliness. The difference between the two proves the success of this drive.

15 kilometer long human chain
CR Patil said that PM Modi had come to Surat recently. To mark his arrival, we set a target of complete cleanliness and therefore cleaned every street of the city. A large number of government and Municipal Corporation officers, employees, BJP functionaries and children participated in the cleanliness drive. Later, about 25-thousand children formed a 15-kilometer long human chain to create awareness about cleanliness among the common people.

Patil said that there are 360 villages in our area of Navsari district. Almost all the officers, employees, sarpanches and common people participated in this special campaign with about 45 JCBs, 35 garbage vans, tractors and other equipments to clean the entire area.

360 villages will soon be completely clean
The Navsari MP said that till now we have completely cleaned 80 villages of our area. There is no garbage anywhere in these villages.  Special arrangements have been made for disposal of garbage. Within the next 20-25 days, all 360 villages will be completely cleaned.

Special action plan for all the districts of Gujarat
BJP State President, in response to a question from Dynamite News, said that as the state President, he wants that every village in all the districts of Gujarat should be cleaned in the same manner. For this we have prepared a special plan. All districts have been informed. The action plan has also been shared.

Patil said that all the villages of Gujarat will be cleaned in two-three months and thus we will be able to fulfil Prime Minister Narendra Modi's wish for cleanliness by running a special campaign in all the villages of Gujarat.

Public involvement is success guarantee of every scheme
In response to a question from Dynamite News, Patil said that if the public joins together, then the success of every plan is ensured. Everyone likes cleanliness. This should become a habit. PM Modi also says that cleanliness must be there but it should be done every day and continuously. Common people are joining our campaign. Most of the youths and students have also been associated with it. Therefore it will be successful in the entire Gujarat.

Committee ensures cleanliness in village
Regarding his action plan, CR Patil said that after cleanliness, we form a committee in the village and ensure that cleanliness is always maintained there.
