Alok Verma assumes charge as CP Delhi

New Delhi / 29 Feb 2016. Senior IPS officer Alok Kumar Verma has assumed charge today, as the new Commissioner of Delhi Police, succeeding B S Bassi.
A 1979 batch IPS officer of the AGMUT (Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory) cadre, Alok Verma was serving as the director general of Tihar jail and is set to retire after 17 months.
