Alok Verma appointed as the new CBI director

New Delhi/ 19 January 2017. Delhi police chief, Alok Kumar Verma has been appointed as the new CBI Director by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and consisting Chief Justice of India J S Khehar and leader of opposition Mallikarjun Kharge.
Alok Verma's name has been selected from a list of 45 IPS officers.
Verma, a 1979-batch IPS officer of the Arunachal, Goa, Mizoram, and Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre, has held many posts including DG, Tihar.
