Winter has set in and we are bracing up for it. Some of us are weighted down while some are overwhelmed by this cold weather. 


Here are the glimpses of 5 winter wonderlands.

 


Verkhoyansk, located northeast of Siberia, in Russia is the coldest town in the world (with a record of -90°F in February 1892). The average temperature hovers around -56°F in January.

 


The coldest temperature in North America was recorded in the ghost town of Snag, in the Yukon, a Canadian territory (-81°F on February 3, 1947). Man, has deserted this area, leaving it to wildlife.

 


Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, rarely gets snow and yet the winter temperatures, from December to February, stays average at -6°F. 

 


The city of Winnipeg, Manitoba’s capital is known for its extreme winters during which the city holds various themed activities.the coldest Canadian winter temperatures, is an average of -5°F.

 


The city of Tromsø is located north of the arctic polar circle, in Norway. It’s the entranceway to the Svalbard archipelago, and most polar expeditions leave from there. The winter’s average temperature hovers around 20°F.
