Discretionary admission quotas of MPs in Kendriya Vidyalayas put on hold

New Delhi: The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has stopped all discretionary quotas, including MPs and DMs quotas, for admissions to Kendriya Vidyalayas till further orders.

Under the KVS Special Dispensation Admission Scheme, an MP could recommend a maximum of 10 students and the District Magistrate, being the Chairman of the Vidylaya Management Committee, could get 17 admissions in every academic year.

Besides, the Union Education Minister had the Discretionary powers of 450 admissions every academic year.
