Family background and education
Dimple Yadav was born on 15 January 1978 in an Army family. Her father RCS Rawat has served the country for a long time as a Colonel. Her mother Champa Devi is a homemaker. Dimple hails from Uttarakhand.
As her father had postings at different places as a Colonel, Dimple got an opportunity to study in various schools in the country.
Her political innings
The political stint of Dimple Yadav began when she got married to Akhilesh Yadav on 24 November 1999.
Political journey
As Dimple Yadav stepped into politics, it was the time when many leaders were leaving the Samajwadi Party.
Dimple reached the Lok Sabha for the first time in 2012 from Kannauj. However, prior to it she had contested the Lok Sabha byelection from Firozabad in 2009 and fell short by a few votes. But this made Dimple bolder and stronger.

After this, Dimple secured big wins in the 2014, 2022 and 2024 Lok Sabha elections. She is at present an MP from Mainpuri.
