Fadnavis takes oath as new CM of Maharashtra; PM among dignitaries at swearing-in ceremony
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, BJP President JP Nadda were among those who were present on the occasion.
Mumbai: Devendra Fadnavis sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Maharashtra on Thursday at Mumbai's Azad Maidan.
Besides, NCP leader Ajit Pawar and Shiv Sena's Eknath Shinde also took the oath as Deputy Chief Ministers.

Dignitaries at swearing-in

Industrialist Mukesh Ambani, actors Sanjay Dutt, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan were also attended the swearing-in ceremony.

Maharashtra Assembly Polls
In the recently-concluded Maharashtra Assembly elections, BJP-led Mahayuti swept the polls by wining 230 seats in the 288-member House. On Wednesday, Fadnavis, along with Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, met with state Governor CP Radhakrishnan to formally stake claim to form the government, presenting letters of support from the coalition partners.
