New Delhi: Deputy National Security Advisor (Dy-NSA) Vikram Misri will be the new Foreign Secretary.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Vikram Misri (IFS: 1989) on Friday.

His appointment as the new Foreign Secretary will be effect from July 15. 

Vikram Misri will succeed Vinay Mohan Kwatra (IFS: 1988), who was given a six months' extension in March 2024 till July 14, 2024.
