Delhi: Three-time MLA Veer Singh Dhingan joins AAP

Delhi: In a setback to Congress ahead of the Delhi Assembly polls, former party MLA Veer Singh Dhingan on Friday joined the Aam Aadmi Party.
Dhingan, a former three-time MLA from Seemapuri, joined the AAP in the presence of former Delhi Chief Minister and party supremo Arvind Kejriwal at the party's headquarters in Delhi.

"Dhingan did a lot of work in Seemapuri area. Today, the people of entire Delhi are standing with AAP and good leaders of other parties are joining us. This shows that Aam Aadmi Party is winning the upcoming assembly elections with a thumping majority," Mr Kejriwal said.
'Impressed by AAP's work'
After joining the AAP, Ex-Seemapuri MLA said: "I am joining the AAP becuase I am impressed by the work and policies of the AAP and Arvind Kejriwal."

"In Delhi, only Aam Aadmi Party and Arvind Kejriwal are working with full honesty for the Dalits and backward classes," he added.
Dhingan on Congress
Dhingan also accused Congress of supporting BJP in Mayoral polls held on Thursday. Notable, Congress members staged a walkout uuring the mayoral polls in which AAP's candidate Mahesh Khichi defeated BJP’s Kishan Pal by three votes.
However, Congress's Mohammad Khushnood and his wife, Sabila Begum, resigned from the primary membership of Congress and did not walkout of the polls.
Seven other Congress councillors did not participate in the polls, saying that the Dalit Mayor should get full term. The polls were long due and now new Mayor will have 5-months term.
