Delhi: Ex-Congress MLA Sumesh Shokeen on Monday joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the presence of party Supremo and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at the party headquarters in Delhi.
The development comes a day after the AAP dealt a blow with its senior leader Kailash Gahlot resigning from the party. Later, he joined the BJP.

Kejriwal said Shokeen's induction will not only give a boost to the party in rural areas, but also in other parts of the capital.

"After our government came to power, the process of development began in rural areas. Electricity, water and sewerage work was done in these areas. Mohalla clinics and schools were also built," Kejriwal said.
