Delhi: 26-year-old convict commits suicide in Tihar Jail

New Delhi: A convict died by suicide by hanging himself in the Tihar Jail in Delhi, officials said.

They stated that he had been identified as Javed and that the body had been transferred to a hospital.

"Around 5 pm on Monday, Javed, who was sentenced convicted in a case of robbery in  Malviya Nagar in 2016, was lodged in jail number 8-9 and allegedly took his life by hanging in the common toilet area of the enclosure for inmates" a cop said.

A judicial magistrate enquiry is going on in his case. (with Agency inputs)
