DD News Veteran Anchor Neelum Sharma suddenly passes away

Doordarshan News prime time Anchor Neelum Sharma passed away on Saturday afternoon. She was suffering from Bronchopneumonia. Full report:

New Delhi: Leaving the media world in a shock, DD News popular anchor Neelum Sharma passed away on Saturday afternoon. She was 50.

Neelum was admitted in a private hospital in Noida where she was undergoing treatment for Bronchopneumonia.

Dynamite News Correspondent reports that people came to know about her demise after Doordarshan News tweeted about it.   

Neelum’s body is kept at her Noida residence for the last homage by her admirers. Her last rites will take place at 6 pm at Nigambodh Ghat in Delhi. She has left behind husband and a 15-year old son.

In March this year she was awarded Nari Shakti Puraskar. She did her graduation from Lady Sri Ram College for Women. Later Neelum joined IIMC and MCRC Jamia Milia University for her diploma and degree in Journalism. 

DD News Director General Mayank Agrawal, while talking to Dynamite News, expressed his deep shock and grief on the sudden demise of Neelum. He said the entire DD News team stands by her family in this hour of grief.
