On the 11th day of the Games, the 22-year-old from Hyderabad produced a rich vein of form as she stunned her Canadian opponent Michelle Li 21-18, 21-8 in a one-sided semi-final clash that lasted a little more than half an hour.

With the win, Sindhu has now set up an all-India clash against her fellow countrywoman Nehwal in the summit showdown.

After comfortably winning the first game, Nehwal went down in the second before she bounced back strongly to post 21-14, 18-21, 21-17 win over Kirsty Gilmour of Scotland in a thrilling last-four clash that lasted one hour and eight minutes at the Carrara Sports Arena. (ANI)
