Mumbai: Maharashtra Congress Chief Nana Patole on Friday said the party would get a new State Presidnet soon as he has asked their central leadership to relieve him of his post.

Talking to reporters outside the state Assembly, he said a decision on the new Maharashtra Congress chief would be taken soon.

"We have authorised the party’s central leadership to name the new leader,” he further said.
He asks paty to releive him
Patole said he has asked the party high command to relieve him as the state Congress chief since he has been holding the post for four years.
He said Congress would announce legislature party leader soon.

Notably, Patole last week said that he had not tendered resignation amid rumours that he would tender resignation as State Chief.
In the recently-concluded Maharashtra Assembly elections, BJP-led Mahayuti registered a resounding victory and retained power in the state, winning 230 of the 288 assembly seats. Maha Vikas Aghadi coud win 46 seats, of which 16 seats were won by the Congress. (With Agency Inputs)
