New Delhi: Congress President Sonia Gandhi said on Tuesday that Congress must always defend the liberty and freedom of individual and institution. She said in the meeting of Congress Working Committee (CWC) at the occassion of 75th Anniversary of Quit India Movement and salutes the martyrs. 

Sonia addressed to the party workers, "Anguished by assault on freedom.Self appointed vigilantes are a threat to liberty and enemy of pluralism and diversity."

Former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh also expresses deep concern about India's 'youth and peasantry as multiple problems persist post demonetisation and GST'.

Many party leader attented the meeitng except Rahul Gandhi.

According to the sources, Vice-President of the party was not unwell to take part in the CWC meeting.
