Congress leader Miani D Shira has won from Meghalaya's Ampati Assembly constituency on Thursday.

Shillong: Congress candidate Miani D Shira has won seat in Meghalaya from Ampati. 

"After second round of counting, Congress candidate got 5282 votes while NPP candidate bagged 4854 votes.

Independent candidate S Koch polled 190 votes only," Kharkongor told.

The seat fell vacant after Shira's father and Congress leader Mukul Sangma, who won from two seats in the Assembly elections, vacated the seat. (PTI)
