Congress leader RPN Singh resigned from the party.
New Delhi: Congress leader and former Union Minister RPN Singh resigned from the party.

He tendered his resignation to the Party president Sonia Gandhi.

"I hereby tender my resignation from the primary members of the Indian National Congress with immediate effect. I thank you for providing me opportunity to serve the nation, people and the party," Singh said in his resignation to party President Sonia Gandhi.
"Today, at a time, we are celebrating the formation of our great Republic, I begin a new chapter in my political journey. Jai Hind," he wrote on Twitter, while sharing his letter.
Earlier today Singh changed his Twitter bio and dropped "Congress". "My motto India, First, Always," reads his bio, which earlier said AICC (All India Congress Committee) in-charge.

RPN Singh was an MP from the Padrauna in Uttar Pradesh.
