Wrote to the EC
Earlier in the day, Jairam Ramesh wrote to the Election Commission, alleging slowing down of uploading up-to-date trends on the poll panel's website. In response, the poll panel said the Congress's allegations were "irresponsible, unfounded and uncorroborated malafide narratives".

In the counting of votes on Tuesday, the Congress gained lead in the early trends, leading to celebrations in the party offices in Delhi and Chandigarh. However, the BJP came back from behind and gained a decisive lead. At the time of filing of this report, the BJP has won 39 seats and is ahead on 10 seats and is expected to cross the halfway mark of 46 comfortably.
