China Masters: Lakshya enters quarters; Sindhu crashes out

Two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu went down to Singapore's Yeo Jia Min in a hard-fought match, crashing out of the prestigious tournament. Read further on Dynamite News:

Shenzhen: India's shuttler Lakshya Sen stormed into the quarterfinals of the China Masters Super 750 badminton tournament after thrashing Rasmus Gemke of Denmark  21-6 21-18 in men's singles second round match in Shenzhen on Thursday. 

The match lasted 46-minutes. Now, he will take on the winner of the match between Japan's Takuma Obayashi and Anders Antonsen of Denmark.

But in  women's singles, two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu went down to Singapore's Yeo Jia Min in a hard-fought match, crashing out of the prestigious tournamant. 

Sindhu in the opening match who dispatched the higher-ranked Busanan Ongbamrungphan 21-17 21-19 in the opening round, fought valiantly before going down 16-21 21-17 21-23 to Min in a match that lasted one hour and nine minutes.

This was Sindhu’s first loss against Yeo Jia Min in six meetings.

Men's doubles
World No. 9 men’s doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty  enetered the quarter-finals after registering a 21-19, 21-15 win over 15th-ranked Rasmus Kjaer and Frederik Sogaard of Denmark.

Now, the Indian pair will face Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup Rasmussen of Denmark in their quarter-final match.
