Sukma: Two jawans of Jagargunda police station got injured in a Naxal attack during a weekly market in Sukma, police said.

"Two jawans of Jagargunda police station got injured in a Naxal attack during a weekly market in Sukma. They are being given first aid. An intensive search operation is being carried out by security forces in the area," Sukma Police said.

Search operation started

Following the attack, security forces have launched an intensive search operation in the area to catch the suspects.

35-year old killed by Naxalites

On Wednesday, a 35-year-old man was killed by Naxalites on suspicion of being a police informer in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district, police said.

The victim was identified as Dinesh Pujar, who hailed from Putkel village under Basaguda police station limits.

Earlier, the Dantewada police in Chhattisgarh reported that at least 38 Naxal cadres were gunned down in a recent encounter in the forests of Abujhmad, near the Dantewada-Narayanpur border. (with Agency inputs)
