Charred body found in SUV car in Greater Noida, foul play suspected

New Delhi: A man was burnt to death after his SUV caught fire in Uttar Pradesh's Greater Noida, police said. 

The SUV was found in a forest area under Dadri police station limits on Tuesday night.

The deceased has been identified as Sanjay Yadav, a resident of Ghaziabad. Two suspects have been taken into custody in connection with the the case, according to officials. 

Dispute over jewellery

According to the police, the incident occured following a dispute over jewellery between Yadav and friends.

On being seeing the burning car, locals tried to pull the victim out of the car, but could not safe Yadav. Cops suspect foul play, suggesting that the SUV may have been deliberately set on fire.

His body has been sent for a post-mortem and further invesigation is underway.
