Chandigarh: Supreme Court overturns Mayor poll results; Declares AAP councillor Kuldeep Kumar winner

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday announced a historical verdict and overturned the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation Mayoral result.  

According to the Supreme Court order, AAP mayoral candidate Kuldeep Kumar has been declared winner.

A three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud noted that all eight ballots, which were invalidated by Returning Officer Anil Masih, were valid and cast in favour of Kuldeep Kumar, the Aam Aadmi Party candidate.

The Top Court also noted the Returning Officer Anil Masih should be prosecuted if found guilty of accusations levelled against him. (Agencies)
