Centre notifies appointments of acting Chief Justices of Madhya Pradesh, Madras HC
The central government through the Ministry of Law and Justice on Wednesday notified the appointment of the Acting Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh court">High Court and Madras court">High Court. Read further on Dynamite News:
New Delhi: The central government through the Ministry of Law and Justice on Wednesday notified the appointment of the Acting Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh court" High Court and Madras court" High Court.
According to the notification issued for Madras court" High Court, "In exercise of the power conferred by Article 223 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint 'Justice R. Mahadevan', Judge of the Madras court" High Court, to perform the duties of the office of the Chief Justice of that court" High Court with effect from May 24, 2024, consequent upon the retirement of Justice Sanjay V. Gangapurwala, Chief Justice, Madras court" High Court on May 23, 2024."

Notification issued for Madhya Pradesh court" High Court stated that in the exercise of the power conferred by Article 223 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint 'Justice Sheel Nagu' Judge of the Madhya Pradesh court">High Court, to perform the duties of the office of the Chief Justice of that court" High Court with effect from May 25, 2024.
Consequent upon the Justice Sheel Nagu was appointed as a Judge of the court" High Court of Madhya Pradesh on 27 May 2011 and has been functioning there since then.

Before his elevation as a Judge of the court" High Court, he practised at the court" High Court of Madhya Pradesh in Constitutional, service, labour, and criminal cases.
As regards his contribution to the judiciary by way of disposal of cases, during his tenure of over 12 years as a Judge of the Madhya Pradesh court">High Court, he has authored more than 499 reported judgments.
