Central Pollution Control Board gets new Chairman

New Delhi: Amandeep Garg (IAS: 1999: HP), Additional Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, has been entrusted with additional charge of Chairman, Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

Amandeep Garg will hold the additional charge of Chairman, CPCB till the appointment of a regular incumbent.

Apex organization 
The CPCB is the apex organization in India for pollution control. It is a technical wing of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC).

Coordination work
The CPCB coordinates the activities of the State Pollution Control Boards. It also provides technical assistance and guidance to the State Boards.
