Shimla: Five people, including a 16-year-old, died after the car they were travelling in plunged 200 feet into a ravine in Chauhar valley of Mandi district, police said on Sunday.

According to officials, The incident reportedly took place on Saturday night, when the group was returning from a wedding ceremony in Barot..

SP statement 

One of the deceased was identified to be a 16-year-old, whereas the other four people were reportedly between 20-25 years old, according to Mandi Superintendent of Police, Sakshi Verma.

Police said the accident occurred late at night, but the wreckage of the Alto car was discovered by local residents in the morning, prompting them to notify the police.

On Sunday, a team of police officials arrived at the scene, retrieved the bodies, and initiated an investigation into the incident.
