Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has resigned from Congress.

New Delhi: Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has resigned from Congress.

In a tweet he wrote "I have today sent my resignation to Congress President Sonia Gandhi ji, listing my reasons for the resignation."

He further said,"‘Punjab Lok Congress’ is the name of the new party. The registration is pending approval with the ECI. The party symbol will be approved later."
