Kolkata: In the matter of the estate of Late Priyamvada Devi Birla, the Division Bench of the Calcutta High Court comprising of Chief Justice Thottathil B. Radhakrishnan and Justice Shampa Sarkar dismissed the Contempt Petition filed by Arvind Kumar Newar and Others [Birlas] against Harsh Vardhan Lodha on Thursday.
As per Dynamite News correspondent, it was alleged that Harsh Vardhan Lodha had by continuing to hold office as the Director / Chairman of Birla Corporation Limited, Vindhya Telelinks Limited, Universal Cables Limited and Birla Cables Limited as well as participating in the Board meetings of Birla Corporation Limited, Vindhya Telelinks Limited, Universal Cables Limited and Birla Cables Limited willfully breached the ad-interim Order dated 1st October, 2020 passed by the Division Bench of the Calcutta High Court comprising of the Chief Justice Thottathil B. Radhakrishnan and Justice Shampa Sarkar.
The Hon’ble Court has also dismissed the Contempt Petitions filed against the Directors and key managerial persons of Birla Corporation Limited, Vindhya Telelinks Limited, Universal Cables Limited and Birla Cables Limited wherein allegations of adding and abetting were made.
