High-Level Committee
Notably, a high-level committee headed by former President Ram Nath Kovind submitted its report on 'One Nation One Polls' to President Droupadi Murmu in March earlier this year.
The Union Cabinet in September this year approved the recommendations of the high-level committee.

The Panel Proposes Amendments
The committee had proposed amendments to three Articles, insertion of 12 new sub-clauses in the existing articles and tweaking three laws related to UTs having legislative assemblies.
In its report submitted to government in March ahead of Lok Sabha polls, the panel recommended implementing one nation, one election in two phases.
