Bureaucracy: Senior IAS Faiz Ahmed Kidwai appointed as DGCA chief

New Delhi: Senior IAS officer Faiz Ahmed Kidwai has been appointed as the Director General of Directorate General of Civil Aviation under the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

ACC approves appointment 

The Union Cabinet Appointments Committee (ACC) has approved his appointment on Friday.

Besides, Akash Tripathi, IAS (MP: 98), has also been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Power.

Kamal Kishore Soan,  IAS (JH:98), who served as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Labour & Employment, has been designated as Additional Secretary and Mission Director, Jal Jeevan Mission, under the Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation, Ministry of Jal Shakti. 

Ashutosh Agnihotri, IAS (AM:99), Additional Secretary, Department of Home, Ministry of Home Affairs as Chairman & Managing Director, Food Corporation of India in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary to the Government of India. 

Shubha Thakur, IAS, (CSS:89), who served as Additional Secretary in the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, has been transferred to the Ministry of Home Affairs as Additional Secretary, Inter-State Council Secretariat.

In-situ upgradation

Apart from this, the ACC has also approved in-situ upgradation of IAS officer Vinay Kumar, who belongs to 1999 IAS batch, to the level of Additional Secretary to the Government of India. Earlier, he was working as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
