BSF recovers China-made drone with suspected packet of heroin in Punjab's Amritsar

The Border Security Force (BSF) neutralised and then recovered a China-made drone along with a suspected packet of heroin in the border area of Amritsar district on Monday, the BSF said in a statement. Read further on Dynamite News:

Amritsar: The Border Security Force (BSF) neutralised and then recovered a China-made drone along with a suspected packet of heroin in the border area of Amritsar district on Monday, the BSF said in a statement.

The drone that was recovered has been identified as a China-made DJI Mavic 3 Classic and was carrying a packet of suspected heroin weighing 420 grams wrapped in yellow-coloured adhesive tape.

According to the BSF statement, "On 24th June 2024, during the morning hours, vigilant BSF troops on duty observed blinking light of a drone in the border area of Amritsar district. In immediate response, the troops carried out the drill to neutralise the drone and tracked its movement for an anticipated dropping area."

"Further, an extensive search was conducted in the suspected area during the search operation, and at about 04:18 am, BSF troops successfully recovered 1 drone along with 1 packet weighing 420 grams of suspected heroin from the area adjacent to village- Chaklabaksh in district Amritsar," added the statement.

The narcotics were wrapped in yellow colour adhesive tape and the packet was found attached to the drone with a metal ring. The recovered drone has been identified as a China-made DJI Mavic- 3 classic, added the BSF statement further.

Earlier, on Saturday as well, BSF recovered a similar China-made drone along with a pistol in Punjab's Ferozepur district. In a statement, the BSF said, "Based on specific intelligence input, BSF troops launched an extensive search operation that led to the recovery of a Pakistani drone and a pistol from the village of Lakha Singh Wala in Ferozepur district. The recovered drone is a DJI Mavic 3 Classic, and the pistol was wrapped with yellow adhesive tape and was attached to the drone."

In another operation on June 22, BSF recovered another drone in the Fazilka area. According to the BSF "On 22nd June 2024, during morning hours, based on information of BSF intelligence wing about presence of a drone with narcotics in border area of district Fazilka, BSF troops in collaboration with Punjab Police carried out a search operation in the suspected area. 

During search, at about 07:35 am, the troops successfully recovered 01 drone along with 01 packet of suspected heroin (Gross weight- 520 Grams) from a farming field of Village - Gahlewala of district Fazilka. 

The narcotics were wrapped in red colour adhesive tape and a metal ring with an illuminating stick was also found attached to it. The recovered drone is identified as China made DJI Mavic- 3 Classic." (ANI)
