Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Police on Thursday arrested Congress' Sitapur MP Rakesh Rathore for allegedly sexually exploiting a woman, reports Dynamite News correspondent. 

The Lok Sabha MP was arrested wheh he was holding a press conference.

Allahabad High Court  rejects anticipatory bail 
The Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court on Wednesay rejected the anticipatory bail plea of Rakesh Rathore in the case. 

FIR lodged
An FIR was filed against the Lok Sabha MP on January 17 on a complaint by a woman who accused him of raping her for over four years on the pretext of marriage.

Woman's husband files complaint
Subsequently, the woman's husband filed a complaint accusing MP Rakesh Rathore and his son of pressuring their family to settle the case.
