Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government said on Monday that the body of a sanitary worker, Joy, who had gone missing while cleaning a canal filled with waste and filth in the state capital two days earlier, had been found.

The government authorities confirmed that the body found in the Amayizhanchan canal on Monday morning was indeed that of 47-year-old Joy.

The decomposed body was found in the canal on the Pazhavangadi-Thakaraparambu-Vanchiyoor road by corporation sanitation workers, who immediately alerted the police and the ward councillor. (with Agency inputs)
