Mumbai: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday nominated party MLA Ravindra Chavan as acting President of Maharashtra State, reports Dynamite News correspondent. 

The announcement comes almost two month after BJP-led Mahayuti registered a remarkable victory in the assembly elections. 

The BJP-led alliance won 235 seats in the 288-member assembly.
