BJP announces first list of 66 candidates for Jharkhand Assembly Elections

Ranchi: BJP on Saturday announced its first list of 66 candidates for Jharkhand Assembly polls.

The state will go to polls in two phases on November 13 and 20. The outcome of the polls will be announced on November 23.

BJP on Friday announced that seat-sharing talks have been completed and  the party would countest 68 seats in the state, while its allies, All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) will contest 10, Janata Dal (United) will contest two and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) will contest the lone seat of Chatra. 

Babulal Marandi & Champai Soren

Former state Chief Minister Babulal Marandi will contest  from Dhanwar while Champai Soren, who switched over to BJP from JMM, will contest from Saraikella assembly seat. Soren's son Babulal has been given ticket from Ghatshila.

Meera Munda, wife of ex-Union Minister Arjun Munda, will contest from the reserved constituency of Potka.
