Munger: A retired government official and his wife were allegedly killed with their throats slit in their house here today, the police said.

Additional Superintendent of Police, Munger, Harishankar Prasad, said a newspaper hawker raised an alarm this morning when he noticed a stream of blood coming out of the house of 75-year-old Rajniti Kunwar.

When neighbours forced open the door, Kunwar and his 70-year-old wife Kanti were found dead with their throats slit, Prasad said.

He said investigations were on to ascertain the motive of the killings and identify the culprits.

Kunwar had retired from the post of Circle Officer in the district in 2002, Prasad said.(PTI)
