Bihar: Massive fire in Darbhanga chars 6 of family to death

Darbhanga: In a tragic incident, six members of a family were charred to death in an accidental fire at Antor village under Bahera police station area in Darbhanga, District Magistrate Rajeev Roshan said here on Friday.

In the Thursday night incident, firecrackers used in a wedding party led to the blaze at the residence of one Ramchandra Paswan where arrangements for food and lodging were made, Roshan said.

Six members of the family including his wife, son, daughter-in-law, and three grandchildren were charred to death.

The accident occurred during the marriage of another villager Chhagan Paswan's daughter.

"All the bodies have been sent for postmortem," Roshan said adding that instructions had been issued to give Rs 6 lakh for each death to bereaved family members as financial assistance. Additionally, Rs 11,000 each had already been paid to affected family, he informed. (with Agency inputs)
