New Delhi: Amid reports of leadership change, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was on Friday elected as National President of the Janata Dal United (JDU) at a meeting of the Party's National Executive in Delhi, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

Nitish Kumar took over the Party's top post just after Lalan Singh stepped down from the post. Lalan Singh offered his resignation after the JDU National Executive meeting began at the Constitution Club.
An official announcement on the fast-paced developments within the JDU is expected to be made in the evening.
