Begusarai: At least four people were killed and five others injured when a car carrying them rammed into a road divider in Begusarai on early Sunday. The injured were taken to the Sadar Hospital.

The accident occurred between Begusarai-Khagaria on the National Highway near Khatopur Chowk of Lakho police station area. Hearing the thunderous sound of the accident people rushed to the spot in a few moments and started evacuating the people.

The people were returning in the Scorpio car from a wedding ceremony in New Zafar Nagar village in Sanha of Sahebpur Kamal police station area to their home at Pahad Chak. Suddenly the tyre of the Scorpio burst. As a result the car went out of control and hit the divider resulting the tragedy.

Begusarai Sadar DSP Subodh Kumar said, 'All of them the people were returning from a wedding procession when near Khatopur Chowk, their car went out of control and hit the divider. 

'The deceased have been identified as Saurabh Kumar and Krishna Kumar, residents of Paharchak village of Mufassil police station area, along with sibling brothers Ankit Kumar and Abhishek Kumar. The injured include Anshu Kumar, Golu Kumar, Sujit Kumar, Niranjan Kumar and Satyam Kumar.' 

The wedding was of Abhishek, son of Chandan of Paharchak village.
